>In a spat of Shelter-in-place home cleaning, I stumbled upon a box full of Sony-MiniDiscs - an ancient, but remnant artifact of the early digital age. After crowd-sourcing a mini-disc player via Facebook I transferred what I could off these digital fossils.

The jackpot of the stash was this not great sounding, but very entertaining, live recording of the Mid-Winter Yeow from the Opera House in Columbia, California featuring old friends, Cactus Bob Cole and his lovely musical and life partner, Prairie Flower (Chris) as well as Chris’s talented son, Michael P. Kennedy who form the fantastic acoustic trio: Faux Renwah along with other fantastically talented Sonora Counthy (Foothills) acts like Doo Doo Wah, Sourdough Slim and Blackwood Tom, Marsha Goodman Reeves, Julio in Glasses and many others.

Being an addled old hippie, I honestly cannot recall the date of this actual event. If I were to guess I’d say February of 2003……

The negative: I don’t think it’s all there - I distinctly recall one of the funniest songs of the whole night, delivered by Doo Doo Wah was their tribute to CalTrans……

The Positive: What is there is great and makes for some fun listening!
